Pirates, Prada, and Play
Well let me start out by saying this. Earlier tonight, I wrote a beautifully crafted blog. It involved a brief synopsis of yesterday's events, plus my own personal movie critiques on the Pirates and Prada. Well, my laptop obviously didn't want that blog to be published...it deleted it without a reason. Grrr. So, saying that, here I go again... sorry it's not as beautiful but I really don't remember what I wrote earlier...Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest
Is it just me or are movie sequels getting better and better? I remember the day when sequels were just dried out versions of the original with no creative material (see Grease 2 if you don't know what I'm talking about). This sequel is just as good, if not better, than the original. If no other reason (girls) go to see Orlando Bloom in all his wonderful glory. Or, if you're a Depp fan, go to see him too. And (guys) go to see Keira. Whatever you prefer. But this movie has all of the "it" factors of a good movie. It has a) a good plot b) great cast c) good special effects d) interesting twists and turns e) humor. It definately kept me interested. It wasn't one of those movies when I was checking my cell phone's clock every five minutes to see when the thing was gonna end. It was lengthy (2 and a half hours) but, looking back, it was worth it. Go see this one... you'll regret it if you don't. It WILL NOT be as good watching in in your living room. You need the whole movie theater experience for this one.
The Devil Wears Prada
I sort of feel bad for this movie. I mean, the reviews in the paper are terrible. I wasn't expecting anything. It's not the actors fault this movie is a dud...they just had nothing to work with. The plotline starts out predictable, but decent... I expected a typical ugly girl to stuck up pretty girl transformation storyline. Generally, that's what I got. There were random storylines thrown in there that just didn't seem realistic. Plus, who wants to see Meryl Streep without makeup? Not me. It was too long. It FELT too long. By the end of the movie, I was so ready for it to be over. Now, back to why I feel bad for this movie. The actresses (and actors) are generally good, they were given a plot and a script, they did their jobs. It's just that the script just wasn't that great. It was a typical chick flick I suppose, but after the Pirates high, I didn't really enjoy this one. Maybe it's worth the rental, but don't pay 7.50 to go see it at the Rave. It's not worth it.
Well, I went to Pirates with two of my best guy friends ever, then Prada with all my best church girl friends ever, then went to the girls church lock in. Nothing really to comment on there. There was a lot of Kareoke involved. And some people don't know how to play Sardines properly. And me and Marci were two of the ones that actually went to sleep. But, you know, it was a typical lock in. I'm not a big lock in person, I'd rather go to sleep than stay up all night long. And then some girls woke me up which upset me. But I went home and went to bed until 3:00 anyway. Waste of a day? Nah.
